John William Allen was the son of Mr John and Mrs Alice Maud Allen, of 40, Chomeley Road, Reading.  He is remembered on the family grave number 16473.  Berkshire Family History Society classification 76B6.   

John Allen was lost at sea when the cruiser “Natal” was blown up in the harbour on December 30^th 1915.  304 men were lost.  He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent.  Panel 11.
