Albert Bowley, was the son of Thomas and Ellen Bowley, of 3, Watlington Street, Reading.  In 1911 like his father and two of his three younger sisters Albert was working at the biscuit factory. HIt is thought that he may have been a soldier before the war.

Alfred Bowley was injured whilst at the front at the beginning of 1916, he sustained severe injuries to his arms and legs.  He was evacuated to hospital in London where he eventually died of meningitis, aged 24.   He died on 11th July 1916 and is buried in a registered war grave with a CWGC war pattern headstone, number 8343.
